About Self-leveling Epoxy

Duraamen’s variety of self-leveling epoxy options provides outstanding performance as a seamless flooring solution. Our self-leveling 100% solids epoxy flooring is engineered for industrial applications, and will withstand punishment from the highest volume industrial traffic. This makes them more than suited for use in residential and commercial installations as well. Self-leveling epoxy coatings are an excellent option for resurfacing worn and deteriorated flooring—saving the cost of replacement. Duraamen’s self-leveling epoxies are also often used in decorative flooring applications over new or old concrete.

Offered in two versions, Perdure-SLE (regular) and Perdure-SLE-T (trowel grade), both of Duraamen’s self-leveling epoxy flooring are extremely durable and hard wearing. They offer a number of benefits including: high-impact resistance, resistance from scratching and abrasion. When used as a substrate for other floor coatings, self-leveling epoxy flooring yields multiple aesthetic options.

Installation of an epoxy flooring system requires multiple steps. Firstly, the substrate must be thoroughly prepared and then primed with Perdure E02, 100% solids epoxy primer. Next, a body coat of 100% solids epoxy binder Perdure E10 is mixed with specially blended self-leveling aggregates is installed using a notched trowel or squeegee to attain desired thickness. Subsequently a coat of Perdure E20 pigmented epoxy coating is applied, followed by an additional topcoat polyurethane or polyaspartic top coat.

The aforementioned Perdure E20 is a pigmented epoxy floor coating option that is engineered to provide a high-gloss, chemically resistant finish to your flooring project. It can be applied to provide a smooth high gloss finish or an orange peel textured finish if used in a high-bodied form. Perdure E20 is available in a variety of colors like “safety yellow” and “brick red” which are suited for industrial and manufacturing applications. Download our color chart from this page for pigment options.

When chemical resistance is a requirement, Duraamen offers Perdure NE25 and Perdure NE30/33 epoxies. These products are Novalac modified epoxies that should be used in place of Perdure E20 wherever a high-build, acid and alkali resistant floor coating is required. Perdure NE30/33 offers extreme chemical resistance over NE25, and should be used when resistance to sulfuric acid and other super strong caustics is needed.

Top coat options include Duraamen’s line of water-based, eco-friendly, polyurethane products like Perdure U45 and U46. If high-builds and fast dry times are requirements, then Duraamen’s advanced engineered, fast-drying polyaspartic top coats like Perdure P72/P90 are an option as well.
