According to Randy Flamm, the general contractor had used a red rosin paper and masking tape to protect the new concrete floor. The tape left dark stripes on the floor as it cured. The stripes were really deep. Randy Flamm was asked to regrind the floor after another polisher had spent a month polishing with a smaller machine.

Randy Flamm asked for the help of Jeff Wolcott of Wolcott Concrete to assist him with salvaging the floors. His solution was to regrind the floor down to the aggregate to remove as many of the stripe marks as possible and to distract the eye.
