Whole Foods Market, San Mateo

This project is a testament to the toughness and durability of professional-grade Duraamen floor products. Completed in 2003, the concrete microtopping floor of this Whole Foods Market in San Mateo, California still looks new.

Skraffino, Duraamen’s concrete microtopping / skim coating product is one of the easiest to apply microtoppings on the market. Duraamen’s Patinaetch and Deso Dye concrete colorants were also used.

The surface was sealed just with Perdure A03 acrylic sealer and a protective coat of Smartgard was also applied to help better resist the high foot traffic.

Whole Foods maintains the floor by regularly cleaning and applying commercial-grade wax. Even after 15 years of regular cleaning and heavy foot and wheeled traffic the floor still looks amazing.
