DDB Health’s offices had concrete flooring installed with a unique, and contemporary look at a comparable cost to other types of flooring. Their polished concrete floor will last the life of the business with only minimal maintenance turning their expense into an investment.

Overview

Agency RX (Now DDB Health) is a creative advertising agency specializing in the Health Care Industry. Their New York City offices are located in a 12,000 sq. ft. space that occupies 3 floors of a Varick Street building.

In 2007/2008 Agency RX remodeled their New York City Offices. The look and feel of their offices needed to reflect the professional, cutting-edge creative services their business provides. They needed a commercial floor that could withstand heavy foot traffic but didn’t look commercial. What was needed was a contemporary look and feel that aligned with the interior colors and design of the creative office space. So when they decided on a flooring option for their studio offices, they wisely chose a concrete overlay.

Outside of New York City, concrete flooring costs about $8-$12 sq. ft. depending on your geographic location and the thickness of the overlay. Thickness is determined by the condition of existing substrate. Is the substrate new, old, level, good condition, deteriorated, plywood or gypsum?

The cost of this flooring system (all products needed to complete the project) is even less if you’re willing to do-it-yourself: $4.50 – $5.00 sq. ft.

The cost is comparable to other types of flooring including:
