Reinforcement material for self-leveling concrete and resinous flooring systems

Spiderlath is a reinforcement material for self-leveling concrete or resinous flooring systems when installed over a flexible substrate such as a plywood subfloor.

Description

Spiderlath is a reinforcement material for self-leveling concrete or resinous flooring systems when installed over a flexible substrate such as a plywood subfloor. It is made from alkali-resistant fiberglass and used as an alternative to metal lath. It is designed to last the life of the flooring system. The fibers are twisted to aid excellent bonding with the cementitious or resinous material. It imparts tensile and flexural strength to the flooring system. Spiderlath is versatile and strong enough for heavyweight products such as three-coat stucco, natural stone veneer, and self-leveling concrete.

Laying down spider lath over a distressed concrete slab and pouring either self-leveling concrete or self-leveling epoxy or MMA resin helps stabilize the base.

Features /benefits

  1. Reduced Labor Costs – Spiderlath can be installed in about half the time it takes to install metal lath.
  2. Corrosion Free – It is made from alkali-resistant fiberglass. It will not rust as metal lath.
  3. Reduced transportation costs – Spiderlath weighs only 20lb per 300sq.ft. roll. Metal lathe of similar size will weigh 90lb (approximately)
  4. Easy to use – Spiderlath can be used relatively easily. It is cut with scissors or a knife—no more cuts or scratches from metal lath.

There are two versions of Spiderlath available.

  1. Spiderlath 8.8oz. is often used in cementitious flooring systems
  2. Spiderlath 4.4oz. is most commonly used for resinous flooring systems.
