Urethane floor coatings
Urethane floor coating systems, known for thermal shock resistance, are highly recommended in commercial kitchens, food processing plants, breweries, wineries, bakeries, and restaurants. It is one of the toughest flooring products on the market when protecting against chemicals, thermal shock, abrasions, and impacts. These systems are also commonly referred to as polyurea floor coatings or cementitious urethane, depending on the specific resin technology used.
High-performance Urethane floor coating solutions have surpassed traditional epoxy coatings that had been used for many years where thermal shock and chemical deterioration of the floor are concerns. Their reasonable cost and high-performance characteristics make them the ideal solution for food and beverage facilities, often outperforming a standard floor finish in extreme environments. In some industrial cases, MMA resin coatings or chemical resistant novolac epoxy may be used as alternatives where specific chemical immersion is required.
Because Kraftig urethane concrete is engineered to be crack-resistant, it is one of the most hygienic flooring solutions available. To ensure this integrity, any existing damage should be addressed with concrete crack repair & patchs before the application. In food and beverage facilities, cracks offer a safe haven for bacteria; therefore, ensuring a seamless bond through rigorous surface preparation is essential. Additionally, for vertical surfaces in these facilities, we recommend using epoxy wall coatings to create a fully encapsulated, hygienic environment.
Duraamen offers its urethane solutions in three variations: Kraftig-SL, Kraftig-TG, and Kraftig-SC. All variations provide a seamless floor that can take the punishment of the harshest environments. You can customize the look of these systems using integral colorants or specialized aggregates. Depending on your substrate, you may first need to apply self leveling concrete to ensure a uniform pour. Finally, to enhance longevity and slip resistance, specific sealers & top coats or polyurethane sealers can be applied as a final protective layer.
