MMA Resin Coatings

For completing new industrial floor coating projects and refurbishments on a tight deadline, MMA resin coatings are the product of choice. These reactive resins differ from other concrete overlays and repair materials because they contain the monomer Methyl methacrylate (MMA).

MMA allows for an ultra-fast cure time and super-tough physical characteristics. In fact, Düraamen’s Macrylex system is ready to use in as little as two hours after its application, often outperforming traditional epoxy coatings in speed. Additionally, these coatings can cure in temperatures as low as 40°F, making them more versatile than most polyurethane sealers.

The Macrylex system provides maximum protection against abrasions, wear, and thermal shock. It offers maximum versatility as it can be finished with a solid floor finish, or enhanced with decorative quartz. To ensure a seamless and durable bond, rigorous surface preparation is required before the rapid-cure process begins. For projects requiring high-build protection with slightly different chemistry, some contractors also consider polyaspartic coatings.

Because the Macrylex reactive resin system was engineered for harsh environments, it can be used anywhere that a tough floor needs to be installed with minimal downtime. If the existing substrate is uneven, using self leveling concrete beforehand can ensure a perfect result.
