Installing Urethane Concrete Flooring
Urethane Concrete Installation Demonstration
In this installation video, Bob Harris demonstrates the step-by-step application of a self-leveling urethane cement system—Duraamen’s Kraftig SL—featuring a decorative colored quartz broadcast and a durable polyaspartic topcoat.
System Components:
-
4-part system: hardener, aggregate, cement blend, and optional pigment pack
-
Applied at 1/8″ thickness using a gauge rake and smoothing paddle
-
Broadcast with decorative quartz for enhanced slip resistance and aesthetics
Surface Preparation:
-
Grind with 16 or 30-grit diamonds or shot blast to CSP 4–5
Application Process:
-
Mix the urethane slurry thoroughly.
-
Pour and spread with a gauge rake to 1/8” thickness.
-
Smooth with a leveling paddle.
-
Broadcast colored quartz evenly (shown using Duraamen’s “Oceana” pigment).
-
Allow the floor to set, then vacuum off excess quartz.
Topcoat Application:
The system is finished with Perdure P72, Duraamen’s UV-stable, scratch-resistant polyaspartic topcoat, which enhances durability and cleanability.
