New York Flooring Contractor Completes Metallic Epoxy Project

Metallic epoxy coating system was installed in a health care facility in  Hauppauge, NY. This coating was applied after treating the substrate for moisture vapor emission.

Our congratulations to the team of professionals at G&B Flooring of Englewood New Jersey who completed this metallic epoxy flooring project for the Head Injury Association of Hauppauge, NY. This was a challenging project due to the size being 13,000 square feet and floor moisture issues requiring the right products and experience.

The first phase of the project was a self leveling concrete overlay. The issue was moisture vapor in the floor which could cause delamination of subsequent coatings.

The solution was a 1/8th inch thick application of Duraamen Perdure MVT+ a topical moisture vapor barrier epoxy. Perdure MVT is a water based epoxy with low VOC. It has a high tolerance to moisture vapor and also protects against radon. Perdure was applied over the self leveling concrete.

G & B Flooring proceeded to do a beautiful job applying our Lumiere metallic epoxy coatings . Lumiere is a high performance decorative epoxy available in bright metallic finishes. It is used on both residential and commercial floors.
